T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, Invincible Iron Man, and Dark Knight--3 comics, going from excellent to purely average.
T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #5
God, I love this series. Nick Spencer has done such a great job writing it and the twists and turns only get even more interesting here. There is a bit of a, "Everything you think you know is wrong," type reveal that is quite cool, and the mixture of amazing dialogue and flat-out action works great. I'm glad that when Spencer went Marvel exclusive he was still allowed to stay on this title, because he is doing so great.
4.5 out of 5 stars.
Invincible Iron Man #502
A battle of wits between Tony Stark and a dying Doctor Octopus, with the overall plot carefully moving forward and Salvador Larroca's art good other than faces looking a bit more "off" than usual. A thoroughly enjoyable issue.
3.5 out of 5 stars.
Batman: The Dark Knight #2
David Finch draws some nice art, but his Bruce Wayne Batman is dangerously insane compared to how anyone else writes him. This isn't the 1990s, Batman doesn't just break a villain's arms and a leg for something as simple as a past flame we never heard of till this series going missing. Also, I thought Penguin had gone somewhat legitimate or something, just being a club owner now. Yeah, if you think of this as an art book it works well, but the story is just weak.
2.5 out of 5 stars.
