After Dark #0-3
Created by Antoine Fuqua and Wesley Snipes with the writing done by Peter Milligan this tale of a dark dsytopian future starts out a bit slowly and formulaic, but over time gets more and more interesting, which I'll summarize.
Basically a team is assigned to leave "Solar City" and try and find a woman named Angel who could help quell the riots as people think of her as a sort of messiah. The first issue was dull with them gathering the team and leaving to find her, the second issue picked things up with a cool weird city and a her finally being found. Then, the third issue where she actually comes back to the city and everything goes to hell is probably my favorite because it twists the usual, "We found the person and now everything's okay," plot around. I did give away a lot of the plot, but other interesting things occur. From a weird mutated baby to strange alien-looking monsters, a lot occurs. Oh, but the zero issue was kind of pointless for me to pick up as it just collects the earlier parts of the first.
I enjoyed this and would say its worth reading even if it starts without too much energy but then picks up.
3.5 out of 5 stars.
