Flashback/Film Friday: "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle," Was Such a Good Time

20 years ago (July 30th, 2004) the World was graced with the hilarious comedy flick, "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle." It was full of gross-out stoner humor, celebrity cameos, and actually had some really insightful moments as its two India-American and Asian-American leads (Kal Penn and John Cho) dealt with everyday life as a minority in America. Oh, and Neal Patrick Harris absolutely stole the show by playing a heavily-exaggerated version of himself as addicted to drugs and perpetually horny.

I saw, "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle," with my parents as a teenager when we were visiting relatives in Florida. Some of the jokes were uncomfortable to be sitting by them and viewing, but I knew this movie was something special due to the way everyone in the theater kept cracking up. There was a stellar sequel and a decent enough third movie themed for Christmas, but the first one captured some kind of lighting in a bottle and the movie wasn't even any sort of official promotion for White Castle--which astounds me to this day as you know White Castle leans into the link heavily now. It's such a fun flick, if you haven't seen it do please rectify that error!
