When I reviewed, "In Winter," by Rita Fürstenau earlier this year I described it as, "A beautiful and twisted tale," discussing how it was reminiscent of a dark fable, yet a fascinating creation all its own. With her detailed and flowing illustrations Fürstenau tells the story of a cat in need, the hawk that dismisses it, and the stark lesson the hawk learns in the end. Published in both German and English by Rotopol Press, it was a comic I considered absolutely gorgeous and is possibly my favorite thing Rotopol Press has put out so far. Rita Fürstenau is an incredible talent and this original graphic novel by her is amazing!
